No app store, no download
There’s no app to find in a store: the website is the app. That has a few practical advantages. It doesn’t take up space on your phone, it’s always the latest version, and with an optional account you can pick up where you left off on your phone, tablet and computer. Just open the site in Chrome, Safari or another modern browser.
Getting started on mobile is quick too: no sign-up needed, just pick your gender, enter your date of birth and confirm you are 18 or over. If you later create an account with your email or Google, your chilis, friends and settings follow you to every device you log in on.

Made for one hand and a small screen
On a phone, the essentials are always within thumb’s reach: Next to move on, Stop to pause, and the text chat with automatic translation. You can switch camera between front and back, for example to show the view from your balcony, and use the view options to hide the chat and give the video the whole screen. Games appear below the video, never on top of anyone’s face.
Tips for a better call on mobile
- Use Wi-Fi when you can. Video uses data; on a weak signal the picture will drop in quality.
- Prop the phone up. A shaky hand-held camera is tiring to watch. Lean it against something at eye level.
- Face the light. A window in front of you beats a lamp behind you.
- Check permissions. If the camera doesn’t start, allow camera and microphone in your browser settings.
- Earphones help. They cut echo and keep your conversation private on the bus or at home.
Same safety, smaller screen
Everything that protects you on a computer works on your phone too: your IP stays hidden because video passes through our server, recording is forbidden and calls carry an invisible watermark, and the Report button is one tap away.
