Looking for a random video chat alternative?

Pick the page that matches your search

Lots of people arrive here after looking for a specific name. We’ve written a separate page for each of the most common searches, each with its own angle:

• Omegle alternative — for anyone who’s been looking for a new home since Omegle shut down in November 2023.
• Chatroulette alternative — the roulette idea that started it all back in 2009, and how it feels today.
• DirtyRoulette alternative — for adults who want a flirtier chat, with consent built in.
• CooMeet alternative, OmeTV alternative and Chatrandom alternative — other names people often compare.
• Bazoocam alternative, Shagle alternative, Chatspin alternative and CamSurf alternative — more random video chats people search for.

Five questions to ask any video chat site

1. Who is it for? A clear 18+ policy, with age confirmation before you start, tells you the site takes minors’ safety seriously.
2. Can the other person see my IP? Look for a site that relays video through its own server rather than exposing your connection.
3. What happens when I report someone? Ideally a human reviews it, offenders are banned and there’s a way to appeal.
4. What is free and what is paid? Prices should be visible before you pay, and cancelling should be easy.
5. Is there anything to do besides staring at each other? Games, topics and translation make conversations far easier to start.

Why people look for alternatives

The reasons vary. Since Omegle closed in November 2023, many of its former users have simply been looking for a new place to meet strangers. Others want something more specific: a flirtier atmosphere, a way to choose who they meet, people from their own country, or just a fresh crowd after years on the same site. There’s no single right answer, which is why we suggest trying a site for a few evenings before deciding. Pay attention to how you feel after a session, not only during it.

Switching is easy

There’s nothing to install and no profile to fill in. No sign-up either: confirm you’re over 18, allow your camera and you’re in. If it isn’t for you, you’ve lost a couple of minutes. Before your first chat, it’s worth skimming the community rules so you know what’s expected — they’re short and written in plain language.
