Video chat in Australia: meet someone new, any time of day

Down Under, the whole world is awake at different times

Being so far from Europe and the Americas has an upside for random chat: depending on when you log on, you’ll meet a different slice of the world. An evening session might bring people who are just waking up elsewhere; a late-night one, people on their lunch break. If you’d rather talk to people closer to home, Premium’s My country filter keeps matches in Australia and the distance filter finds people near you.

Hot hour on Spanish time

Every night from 10 to 11 pm Spanish time is Hot hour 🔥, when every chili you earn counts double. For Australians that hour falls at a very different point in the day than it does in Europe, and it shifts across states and with daylight saving. No need to do the maths: the app shows a countdown before it starts. Chilis are free points for logging in daily, playing and receiving ❤️, and you spend them on superpowers.

Built for chatting on your phone

Lots of people video chat from the couch or the backyard, so the mobile version is just as complete as the desktop one. Open it in Safari or Chrome, allow your camera, and add it to your home screen if you want an icon. Earphones help cut echo if you’re somewhere noisy. Switch between front and back camera in a tap, hide the text chat for a full-screen view, and use the games — Truth or dare, Would you rather?, Rock, paper, scissors and Draw & guess — to keep things moving. More tips are on our mobile video chat page.

What you’ll pay in Australian dollars

The random video chat is free, full stop. Premium, which adds filters, friends and calls, no ads and spicy games, is priced in euros: €7.99 a week or €19.99 a month, cancel anytime. Your bank converts it into Australian dollars, so the final amount depends on the exchange rate and any international transaction fee. Inviting a friend who signs up and has their first conversation of over a minute gets you both a free day of Premium.

Stay safe while you chat

Your IP address stays hidden because video is relayed through our server, recording is forbidden, and calls carry an invisible watermark. If someone behaves badly, report them; a person reviews every report. Keep your own details private too — surname, suburb, workplace — and don’t trust anyone who asks you for money, gift cards or to move the chat somewhere else. The safety page explains common scams, including sextortion, and what to do if it happens.
