How the roulette works
Each time you spin, we look at who is waiting and connect two people. There is no profile to browse and no swiping: you see the other person’s video, they see yours, and the conversation starts. The controls are deliberately few:
- Next (or Esc on a keyboard): end this chat and get matched with someone new.
- Stop: leave the queue whenever you need a breather.
- Text chat: type if you can’t talk out loud, with automatic translation when the other person writes in another language.
On a free account the match is fully random. With Premium you can narrow it down by gender, country, distance and age, but plenty of people prefer the pure lottery.
Ways to make random chats less random
The roulette decides who you meet, but you decide what happens next. A few features exist precisely to turn a cold start into a real conversation:
Icebreakers and games
Stuck after “hi”? Send an icebreaker topic to the chat or invite the other person to a quick round of Would you rather? or Rock, paper, scissors. Draw & guess works surprisingly well even when you share no language.
Superpowers
Spend chilis on Rewind if you pressed Next by mistake (you reconnect with the previous person if they accept), Super hello to have your greeting highlighted as soon as you connect, or Hot flame to jump ahead in the queue for 15 minutes.

Met someone you’d like to see again? Add them as a friend. With Premium you can call your friends directly instead of hoping the wheel brings them back.

Random matching removes the pressure of choosing. You might land on a student practising English, someone cooking dinner on the other side of the world, or a person who just wants to play Truth or dare for ten minutes. Because nobody has picked anyone, nobody needs to impress. Conversations tend to be shorter and lighter than on dating apps, and that’s the point: you can meet a dozen people in the time it takes to write one profile.
Spin responsibly
Not every match will be great, and that’s fine. If someone is rude or breaks the rules, report them: you won’t be matched with them again and a person on our team reviews the report. Your IP stays hidden because video passes through our server. Even so, don’t show anything on camera you wouldn’t want a stranger to keep, and never share your address or banking details.
